Transparent Progress: Notes Metrics Added to Admin Report
Admins now see new notes growth and trends directly in the Note My Life admin report, making it easier to track how people use notes over time.
We built Note My Life so anyone could quickly record important lessons and trust that every note would be saved and available. For those who manage groups or oversee large communities using Note My Life, understanding how people use notes is just as important as reliability and privacy. This week, we have a new update that helps you do exactly that.
What we shipped
If you receive the Note My Life admin report, you will notice a new Notes section starting today. Right after the familiar Users section, the admin report now displays three key stats:
- Total notes: The total number of notes active users have created.
- Total growth: How much the total number of notes has grown compared to last week, both as a number and a percentage.
- Weekly notes: A side-by-side comparison showing how many notes were added this week and last week, including the percentage change.
All these numbers reflect real, active users, so you’re seeing genuine activity, not test data or inactive accounts.
Here’s what this means for your day-to-day use. If you help others use Note My Life (for example, as an organization admin), you can now:
- Track how active everyone is with note taking.
- Spot upward or downward trends in notes created.
- Understand more about engagement and participation, without having to request extra reports or do manual counting.
The report is also built to handle every situation. If, for any reason, a report fails to send, it still records these metrics so you always have a full record. And if your group is just getting started, the numbers display clearly even if note counts are low or there was no activity week-to-week (with growth shown as 0% to avoid any messy calculations).
If there are no notes in a previous week, and suddenly people start writing, the report shows clear growth as a percentage, without confusion or empty numbers.
Why does this matter?
Having good insight into how notes are being used helps everyone. Admins can check at a glance if people are recording what matters, spot early warning signs if notes creation drops, or see success as note counts grow. The new layout puts one of the most important indicators, actual note activity, front and center, making it easier for you to guide your group or simply feel confident about how Note My Life is being used.
Your privacy remains unchanged. User content is never shared or exposed; these summaries only count the number of notes, not who wrote what or the text inside.

You don’t have to change a thing to use this new report. If you’re an admin, just check your next scheduled report or send one manually to see the new Notes stats in action. As always, your feedback helps us improve, so let us know what you think.
