What we shipped

We have upgraded the engine that handles sign in, sign up, sign out, and your account menu to the latest release from our authentication partner, Clerk. This means two things for you:

1. A refreshed sign in and account window. Whether you are creating a new account or returning to your notes, you will see a slightly updated look to the sign in and account menus. The design is up to date, runs smoothly across devices, and is served from Clerk’s latest secure platform.

2. Stronger, more reliable security. Behind the scenes, every step you take to access your notes now runs on a more current and better-supported authentication system. Every login, sign out, and settings change benefits from the most up-to-date security checks available in Clerk's release. If you have ever worried about your notes falling into the wrong hands or losing access, this adds protection.

Both of these changes happen without changing the core of your experience, or your notes. You can still open Note My Life, add new ideas and reminders, and trust that only you control your account.

Your day-to-day

Everything familiar remains the same: your notes are in the same place, your reminders still work, and privacy is protected. The only thing you might notice is a small update to the sign in or account menu screens. If you use several devices, you will see the same reliable experience anywhere you go.

One honest note on speed: this upgrade adds a small amount of extra code for your browser to load, so the sign in and account screens weigh a little more than they did before. It is a minor change, it does not touch the content of your notes, and it does not slow down the app once you are signed in.

Security for the long run

By running on the latest version of Clerk, we also make it easier to receive important security updates in the future. Your account stays ready for improvements without major changes down the line.

Nothing about your notes or data has changed: they remain private to you, and this update does not alter where or how your information is stored. There are no new permissions or settings to review.
