Browser Push Reminders

Your Notes Should Find You When They Matter

Browser reminders bring useful notes back at the moment you can act on them, with email ready as a dependable backup.

Saving a useful idea feels productive. Finding it six months later, after the moment to use it has passed, does not.

That gap is the reason Note My Life exists. A note should be more than a record you have to remember to search. It should return when it can help you make a better decision, keep a promise, or avoid learning the same lesson twice.

Browser push reminders make that return easier. Note My Life can now place a short reminder on your phone or computer, even when your inbox is not where your attention is.

What we shipped

You can choose browser push notifications as the delivery channel for your Note My Life reminders. The setting lives under Reminders, where you can enable a device, send a test notification, switch back to email, or use both channels.

The setup follows the way each device works. Android phones and desktop browsers can ask for notification permission directly. On an iPhone, Note My Life explains how to add the app to your Home Screen before enabling notifications. If your device does not support browser notifications, email remains available.

Push is never the only route. When a notification cannot be delivered, Note My Life can use email as the backup. That means you get the immediacy of a browser notification without giving up the dependable channel you already know.

You stay in control of every device. A work computer can receive reminders while a shared tablet does not. You can remove a device later, change your preferred channel, or turn reminders off.

A small reminder can change the next decision

Imagine that you save this note after a difficult project:

Before estimating the next project, list the three assumptions most likely to change.

The note matters, but only if it returns before the next estimate. A notification at that moment can turn an old observation into a better plan. Without the reminder, the lesson may stay buried until after the same mistake happens again.

The same pattern applies outside work. A reminder can bring back a question you wanted to ask a parent, a habit that helped during a stressful month, or a promise you made to yourself after a hard decision.

The value is not the notification itself. The value is using what you already learned.

Make your notes part of your day

Open Settings, choose Reminders, and enable push on the device where you want to receive it. Send a test notification so you know it is working. You can keep email selected as well if you want both.

If you are new to Note My Life, start by saving one lesson you would want to remember later. The 30 day trial includes the complete experience, so you can see whether timely reminders help your notes become useful actions.
